What does machining involve?
Machining involves using tools contained in a (CNC) machine to remove material in a controlled manner until you have created a nice product that has the desired shape and size. The pieces of material removed are also called “chips” (shavings).
Metalworking is a beautiful and interesting profession in which you are busy making a top product from a starting material for your customer. You start by making a drawing or a step file (3D model) using Cad/Cam software to program as many operations as possible (drilling, tapping, milling, deburring) in one go on your CNC machine. Then you put the tools in the machine and start machining the product.

Here we mentor apprentices internally until they become a professional. What’s best about mentoring apprentices is that by sharing your knowledge and know-how, you take the apprentices to a higher level step by step. You work intensively together and discuss how to clamp a product, how the product will be made and what kind of tools you will use. They come in inexperienced and you see your colleague getting better and better taking the products to the next level
To become a fine craftsman, you must have technical understanding and be willing to work with your hands.
If you are also accurate and precise, this is truly a trade for you.
